- Nose prints are like human fingerprints: The ridges and patterns on every dog's nose are completely unique. Because of this, no two dogs have the exact same nose print. - Their sense of smell is extraordinarily powerful: A dog’s sense of smell is roughly 10,000 to 100,000 times more acute than a human's. In a volume equivalent to two Olympic-sized swimming pools, where a human couldn't detect a single dropped spoonful of sugar, a dog could smell it effortlessly. - Dogs dream too: Just like humans, dogs enter the REM (rapid eye movement) stage of sleep. Twitching their paws, soft barks, or whimpers while sleeping are all signs that they are reliving their day's events in their dreams.
